PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns open the final homestand of the 2025-26 season against the Houston Rockets, looking not only to climb the Western Conference standings but also to redeem their last loss to Houston, courtesy of former Sun Kevin Durant.

Injury Report
The Suns have a relatively clean injury report, with Haywood Highsmith as the only player ruled out due to right knee injury management. Dillon Brooks is also available after avoiding a one-game suspension, as the NBA rescinded his 18th technical foul Monday.
According to Arizona Sports’ Kellan Olson, Steven Adams (left ankle surgery) and Fred VanVleet (right knee repair) will remain out for the Rockets.

ESPN lists Houston as the favorite over Phoenix, with most books showing the Rockets on the moneyline around -115 to -112, while the Suns are close to even money (+100 to +102). Much of that is due to Houston’s six-game winning streak, coupled with its 3-0 record against Phoenix this season.

The Suns are looking to avoid a season sweep at the hands of the Rockets, with their last meeting a 100-97 loss on Jan. 5. With both teams tied in the final seconds, Durant sank the go-ahead 3-pointer for Houston with 1.1 seconds left, stunning his former team.
Suns guard Devin Booker led the scoring in the loss with 27 points, while Dillon Brooks and Royce O’Neale added 15 points each. Durant had 26 points for Houston, while Jabari Smith Jr. and Amen Thompson scored 17 apiece.

Tuesday’s game will be the first time Suns guard Jalen Green faces his former team since being traded from Houston to Phoenix in the deal that sent Durant to the Rockets. It will also mark the first time Durant returns to Mortgage Matchup Center since the trade, after missing the first meeting between both teams on Nov. 24.
While the Rockets have secured their playoff berth, the Suns are still fighting for theirs. They currently hold the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference but need to keep stacking wins to catch the No. 6 seed, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and avoid the play-in tournament.
The Suns face the Rockets on Tuesday, April 7, at 8 p.m.
