After missing his rookie season due to a torn ACL, Thomas Sorber is set to make his NBA debut in the 2026-27 season. The Oklahoma City Thunder have long awaited this debut because Sorber has the potential to become a long-term contributor.
Considering Sorber was the 15th overall pick in the 2025 Draft, the Thunder have high expectations for him. Thankfully for Sorber, it looks like the Thunder have done a wonderful job of supporting him over the past year.
Thomas Sorber is ready to repay the Thunder's support
Before the 2025-26 season even started, Sorber was already out with a torn ACL. Since he is still young, it won't be too bad, but tearing an ACL is still one of the toughest injuries to bounce back from.
Thankfully, the Thunder have a strong culture throughout the organization. Sorber has received all kinds of support over the past year, and it seems that he is excited to repay everyone who has helped him over the past year.

While Sorber has potential to become a good offensive player, he will most likely shine for the Thunder in a more defense-focused role. Sorber himself has hinted at how the past year with the Thunder has led to him improving as a defender.
"I know I'm a good defender, but I feel like OKC has put me in a position to really excel at defending. Just learn from the guys what I can do to learn the little things, how to slide one way or the other way," Sorber said about his support system over the past year to Clemente Almanza.
"Just learn from the older guys like Hart, AC, Chet. How they move their feet, how they know when to attack or when not to attack."
With that kind of support from his teammates and the organization, the Thunder can expect Sorber to impress. It will be interesting to follow him moving forward because he has all the skills to become a difference-maker.
